Handlebars have grown wider in recent years, and this has presented some interesting challenges. Because bars are wider, leverage stress exerted at the stem has risen dramatically. The Traverse SL features a 35mm diameter at the stem clamp; this increases strength in this crucial zone, while also dissipating the bar clamp load across a larger surface area. More secure clamping, and a stronger handlebar - these are good things. Meanwhile, our extensive experience with carbon fiber allows us to ensure maximum strength at the clamp and then tailor the carbon fiber layup to providing damping at the bar-ends, resulting in a more comfortable, less fatiguing ride. The new Jones SG Loop H-Bar uses the same great design as our standard Loop H-Bar, but is available at a lower price by using straight-gauge aluminum tubing in place of the custom-butted tubing on the standard Loop H-Bar. Jeff wanted to make a Loop H-Bar that would allow more riders to experience the superior comfort, control, and utility of his Loop design without making it any less dependable and useful. He accomplished this by switching to less-expensive straight-gauge aluminum tubing. The result is an H-Bar that is just as strong as ever, but which weighs 100g more than the standard version. The SG 2.5 has 2.5 of rise compared to the standard .5 of rise on all of the other H-Bars.
